Enjoy a tour of Athens, combining many of the city´s principal modern and classical sights. This tour includes an overview of the modern city and the striking contrasts of the remains of the past.
The tour will start by visiting the sacred rock of Acropolis, home to world renowned sites and monuments of the Golden Age of Athens, such as the Propylea (the monumental gateway), the Erechtheion, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Parthenon (dedicated to goddess Athena). You will have a fantastic view of the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the ruins of the first theater in the world the Theater of Dionysus, Ancient Agora and the Pnyx Hill.
Continue and visit the Acropolis Museum that offers all the amenities expected in an international museum of 21st century. It is the arcade where the sculptures and statues reunited providing all precious information for ancient years.
Next, we will see the imposing temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch and the ancient Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) which is the home of the first modern Olympics held in 1896. We continue our tour, having the opportunity to watch the impressive Evzones (Presidential Guard) performing their duties or see the ritual of their changing, in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Presidential Palace (the former Royal Palace).
We will also view the House of Parliament, the National Garden and the Constitution Square.
The tour ends by driving along Panepistimiou Avenue and view the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, Athens University and the National Library.
