Vesuvio and Pompeii

Your day begins with a transfer to Pompeii - a city that was completely buried under ash in 79 AD following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Today, it is one of the most moving archaeological sites in the world. You will then continue to nearby Herculaneum, another city destroyed by the eruption, where you will see even better-preserved remains of ancient buildings.

The next part of the tour is a journey up Mount Vesuvius aboard a comfortable open-top bus. This is a unique opportunity to get close to one of the world’s most famous volcanoes. During the ride, you can listen to an audio guide, which will introduce you to the history of the area and the eruption itself.
