Program Description
Transfer to El Kantara, a Roman causeway or ferry that runs between the mainland and the island. Visit to a typical Berber homestead, opportunity to taste traditionally baked bread with oil and honey and tea with almonds. Drive towards Tamezret - a mountain Berber village with a beautiful panorama of the mountains, stop at a viewpoint, then through the desert towards Douz, known as the Gate of Sahara Desert. Camel ride (included), horse-drawn carriage and ATV (extra cost) among the dunes. Break for lunch. Continue through rocky Matmata, where you can see the set from the movie "Star Wars" and the typical for this region underground houses inhabited by the Berbers. Return to Djerba.
